Yoga Essentiel invites students of all ages and levels of physical ability, offering multi-level classes of alignment based yoga inspired by the Iyengar method. The classes are presented thematically on a weekly basis, and explore a range of postures (asana) and introduce breath-control techniques (pranayama); a thorough practice that allows us a deeper insight into our body. The fundamental postures are taught with attention to alignment and postural adjustment, and are catered to each individual's needs and physical abilities. The goal is for the students to obtain a solid base of both practice and understanding.
The classes are organized in 12-week terms. This is to provide a structured and stable learning environment. It is highly encouraged to make up classes that have been missed. However, classes that have been missed during a particular term should be made up within that same term. Late enrolment is possible on a prorated basis at any time during the term.
Level 1 (beginner)
For students new to yoga, looking to establish or strengthen the foundations of a yoga practice
Level 2 (intermediate)
For students with a good foundation of basic poses and at least two years of practice. The students are familiar with minor back bends, forward bends and twists. Inversions are introduced.
Level 3 (advanced)
For students with a strong foundation of basic poses and at least 3 years of practice. The students are familiar with inversions, deeper backbends, forward bends and twists; and have a consistent personal practice.

Drop in 20
*Enrol in 2 classes, and benefit from 6 additional classes to use as drop ins. This option is ideal if you are looking to practice more than 2x per week but cannot commit to 3 classes on a weekly basis, giving you the flexibility to drop in to additional classes at a reduced rate.
